Ty Jennings was commissioned to redesign Titan Industries' New York showroom, the epicenter of an impressive array of shoe and bag designers, including Badgley Mischka, Charles Jourdan, Cynthia Vincent, L.A.M.B., Joe's, Zendaya and more.

The Challenge: The dark, moody showroom hadn't been updated in many years, leaving an amazing opportunity for reimagining, even on a budget. For Titan, leaving this space wasn't option, but as they continue to grow as a leader in the shoe industry, this flagship NYC showroom needed to be able to display hundreds more samples than originally intended.

Restricted by square footage and multiple columns, and challenged to design a space that could also be subdivided for buyer events/designer shows, as needed, ShutterMIX Creative Director, Ty Jennings, designed a commercial space where the perimeter shelves are intact as a two-level continuous shelf, wrapping completely around the space, seeming to float across huge spans of windows looking out over Midtown Manhattan, thanks to clear plexi support beams.

All other fixtures were custom designed and crafted as modular pieces that could be moved into either end of the showroom and cordoned off so the rest of the space could focus on a single designer without distraction.

With minimal construction and less than 10 days total downtime - the showroom doubled it's display space, quadrupled it's hidden cabinet space within custom-designed cabinetry in nearly every new fixture, new seating area furniture, LED accent lighting throughout and crisp, nearly-transparent sheers that allow browsers & buyers to see the midtown metropolis right outside, without being distracted by it.
